What we would tell you on the range

  • Collarless neck band. A low band wraps the back of the neck to keep the sun off, then slopes into a clean v-neck front. It sits flat without buttons or bulk.
  • Lightweight stretch knit. The fabric pulls heat and sweat away from the skin quickly on hot days. Four-way stretch gives the shoulders room across the top of your swing.
  • Curved lower hem. We shaped the hem with a gentle curve that falls past the waistband. It stays down during a follow-through and hangs cleanly untucked.
  • Wash and care. Machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry on low or hang it up. The solid orange knit dries quickly and holds its shade after repeated washing.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
