What we would tell you on the range

Contrast mock collar. The collar stands up on its own to keep wind off the neck, lined with a contrast accent for structure. Unzip the front halfway when you need airflow across the chest.
Shoulder and sleeve room. We gave the sleeves and shoulders enough four-way stretch to swing freely over a base layer. The cuffs rest cleanly at the wrist without sliding over your grip.
Heather knit fabric. A smooth knit fabric feels soft next to bare skin or layered over a pique polo. It provides moderate warmth without heavy bulk and dries fast if caught in light mist.
Washing and shape. Machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry on low. The collar band and zip track stay flat out of the dryer without puckering or curling at the edges.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
