What we would tell you on the range
- Fleece interior. The brushed back holds warmth close while the outer face stays smooth against a jacket. It breathes as the day warms up, moving sweat away before the chill sets in.
- Mock neck zip. The upright collar covers the neck when zipped full against the wind. Pull the contrast zipper down half track to vent heat once you reach the back nine.
- Room for a swing. We gave the sleeves and back enough stretch to move freely through a full swing. The cuffs sit clean at the wrist so the fabric stays clear of your grip.
- Wash and wear. Machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry on low. The knit resists pilling, keeps its stretch, and the sage green melange holds its tone round after round.

Worth doing
- Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
- Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
- Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding
- Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
- An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
- Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
