We built this quarter zip for the cold first hour on the tee box. The navy heather knit stretches four ways across the back and shoulders, sliding easily over a polo without bunching. When the air warms up, the front zip vents heat quickly.

What we would tell you on the range

Contrast mock collar. The collar stands upright to shield your neck from early wind. A contrast band along the inner rim holds the shape clean, while the tag-free neck lies flat against your base layer without scratching.
Four-way stretch knit. We chose a soft, light knit that moves across the upper body during a full swing. It gives you arm coverage against light wind or sun without adding heavy bulk under an outer jacket.
Quarter front zipper. The smooth front pull lets you open the neck when the sun breaks through on the back nine. Pull it down to vent heat or zip it up to the throat to block an early chill.
Washing and shape. Machine wash cold with like colors and tumble dry low. The solid heather knit holds its tone and will not lose its recovery around the cuffs or hem after regular rounds in the rotation.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
