What we would tell you on the range

Contrast mock collar. The collar stands up to block a cold breeze and features a patterned inner lining that shows when unzipped. It holds its shape instead of sagging open.
Quarter zip venting. A smooth quarter-length zipper lets you open up the neck for airflow as the morning warms up. It pulls easily over a collared shirt without snagging.
Four-way stretch knit. We chose a lightweight, supple knit that moves freely with your turn. It breathes well through mild rounds and sits flat under a heavier outer jacket if the weather turns.
Washing and care. Machine wash in cold water with similar shades and tumble dry low. The tag-free neck prevents rubbing, and the fabric keeps its soft feel and colour through repeated wash cycles.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
