We cut this quarter zip for early tee times when the wind is up and the air has not warmed yet. The knit has enough give to clear a full swing over a collared shirt without bunching under the arms. When the sun breaks through, the front zip pulls down to dump heat fast.

What we would tell you on the range

Burgundy stripe knit. The stripe is knitted right into the fabric rather than stamped on top, so the pattern stays crisp through regular wash cycles. It carries enough weight to block a light breeze while remaining light in your bag.
Stand collar and zip. The mock neck stands tall to protect against chill and sits flat against the neck when unzipped. The quarter zip runs smooth, letting you adjust airflow as the morning warms up without stripping off the layer.
Room for layering. We shaped the chest and sleeves with extra clearance so it pulls easily over a pique or jersey polo. The hem drops straight to sit cleanly over golf trousers without catching when you twist through a shot.
Right side tee pocket. A small loop on the right side keeps a couple of tees close at hand between holes. Machine wash on cold and hang dry to preserve the collar shape and keep the stripes sharp round after round.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
