Striped Golf Quarter Zip Pullover

We cut this quarter zip for early starts when the grass is still wet and the wind has teeth. The knit has enough stretch to clear your shoulders at the top of a backswing, with room through the chest to layer over a polo without bunching. When the air warms up, pull the zipper down to vent heat.

What we would tell you on the range

Mock neck and zipper. The stand collar sits close around the neck to keep wind off your throat. Pull the zipper down when the sun breaks through, or pull it all the way up under a rain shell.
Layering over a polo. We gave the chest and armholes enough clearance to slide smoothly over a polo collar and sleeves. The fabric does not drag against cotton or pique underneath.
Swing and shoulder room. The sleeves are cut with medium stretch through the upper arm and back. You can take a full swing without the lower hem hiking up over your belt.
Wash and stripe care. Machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry low. The synthetic knit keeps its shape out of the dryer, and the stripes stay crisp without needing an iron.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
