What we would tell you on the range

  • Split collar line. The neckline opens into a clean V without buttons or extra hardware to fiddle with. It stands slightly at the back to shield the neck while remaining open and cool in front.
  • Shoulder and sleeve cut. The short sleeves are set to cover the upper arm while leaving the shoulder joint free. You get unhindered rotation at the top of the swing without fabric pulling across the upper back.
  • Curved lower hem. We shaped the hem with a gentle curve that rests past the waistband. It stays down during a stroke and looks tidy whether you tuck it into a skort or leave it out.
  • Light grey fabric care. The knit pulls moisture away quickly on warm afternoons. Wash it cold with like colours and tumble dry on low to preserve the clean grey tone and keep the neckline sharp.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
