What we would tell you on the range

  • Knitted high waistband. The wide waistband uses a soft knit with an internal drawstring. It sits flat against the waist without bunching, spreading tension evenly so the shorts stay put when you bend or walk long stretches.
  • Four zipper pockets. We set two standard side pockets and two thigh cargo pockets, each closed with a zipper. They hold a phone, keys, or scorecards securely without bulging outward or letting items slip out on the move.
  • Water repellent fabric. The woven cloth is lightweight, breathable, and treated with a water-repellent finish. It lets heat out on humid afternoons and sheds light drizzle or wet grass without soaking through to the skin.
  • Simple wash care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry to preserve the water-repellent coating. The fabric dries quickly on a line and does not require an iron to look clean and ready.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
