What we would tell you on the range

  • Mock collar and zip. The collar stands up against a cold breeze without chafing your neck. Pull the zipper down mid round when the fairway warms up to let heat escape.
  • Charcoal melange knit. We knit this with fine textured yarns for a heathered charcoal tone that hides dust from dry turf. The synthetic yarns resist shrinking and keep their shape wash after wash.
  • Swing room and sleeves. Long sleeves finish with enough give at the cuffs to stay pushed up on your forearms. We shaped the shoulders so the fabric moves with your turn rather than bunching up.
  • Layering and right side tee slot. A dedicated tee holder sits on the right side seam for quick access between shots. The body is cut loose enough to sit flat over standard pique and jersey golf polos.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
