What we would tell you on the range

  • Mock collar and zip. The neck stands on its own to keep wind off the throat. You can pull the zip down to the chest to dump heat between holes, and the zipper garage prevents metal from catching against your chin.
  • Shoulder ease for layering. We drafted the sleeves and armholes so the layer slides over a polo without grabbing at the cuffs. The four way stretch lets your shoulders turn fully at the top of a backswing.
  • Tee holder detail. A small tee slot sits flat against the right side seam. It holds extra pegs ready without digging into your waist when you bend to mark a ball on the green.
  • Wash and shape retention. Wash in cold water on a normal cycle and hang to dry. The knit resists shrinking, and the collar stays crisp and flat along the placket wash after wash.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
