What we would tell you on the range

  • Heathered melange knit. The lightweight fabric holds warmth against a chill while letting heat vent as you walk. It stretches in all directions across the back and shoulders so your swing moves freely.
  • Mock collar and zip. The neck stands tall enough to keep the wind off your throat. Unzip the placket partway to dump heat once the sun breaks through, or pull it shut against early mist.
  • Dedicated tee slot. We added a small tee holder on the right side seam. It keeps a peg ready at the tee box so you do not dig through deep pockets with cold hands.
  • Cold wash and hang. Wash on a cold cycle and hang it to dry. The polyester knit keeps its heathered khaki colour, resists shrinking, and holds the collar line straight round after round.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
