What we would tell you on the range

  • Tan melange knit. The outer face shows a heathered tan yarn while the inner side is finished with a thin stripe pattern. The material stretches freely across the shoulders, breathes well, and holds its shape after a full day out in the breeze.
  • Stand collar and zip. The mock collar stands up against the wind without scratching the neck. We used a smooth track zipper that pulls down with one hand to vent heat, then zips straight up under your chin when the temperature drops.
  • Side tee slot. We stitched a dedicated tee holder into the right side seam so you do not have to dig into deep pockets on the tee box. It sits flat against the torso when empty and stays out of the way.
  • Cold water care. Wash this layer with like colors in cold water and tumble dry on low. The knit resists shrinking and wrinkling, so the collar keeps its clean line and the hem stays flat right out of the dryer.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
