What we would tell you on the range

  • Four way stretch knit. The lightweight knit pulls moisture away from the skin and dries fast in the sun. Four-way stretch gives your shoulders room at the top of a backswing without the torso twisting out of place.
  • Collar and placket build. We built the collar to sit flat through eighteen holes. The three-button placket features reinforced stitching, with a small contrast print set inside the collar band that shows only when unbuttoned.
  • Side slit hem. Small vents at each side seam let the hem hang straight when worn untucked over shorts or trousers. If you tuck it in, the lower cut keeps the fabric from pulling out.
  • Wash and care. Machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry low. The synthetic knit sheds water quickly and resists wrinkling, so the collar points keep their sharp shape right off the hanger.

Worth doing

  • Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
  • Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
  • Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
  • Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Worth avoiding

  • Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
  • An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
  • Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
