What we would tell you on the range

Brushed fleece interior. A low-pile microfleece lines the inside of the knit to hold warmth against the chill. It sits soft over a short-sleeve polo and slides easily over jersey or pique without catching or bunching.
Collar and quarter zip. The mock collar is built with a contrast inner band that stays upright in the wind. A smooth quarter-length zipper runs down the chest, letting you dump heat quickly as the sun breaks through.
Cuffs and hem. Fitted cuffs keep the sleeves at your wrists through the finish of your swing. The banded hem rests flat below the belt line, keeping out drafts whether you pull the zipper all the way up or leave it open.
Fabric care and wash. Wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low to preserve the soft fleece loft and prevent surface pilling. The melange knit dries quickly on a hanger and holds its shape through regular washings.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
