We built this layer for early tee times when the air has not warmed up yet. The pink melange knit has a brushed fleece back that holds heat against a cold wind, while the four-way stretch leaves your arms free at the top of the swing. Pull the zip down as the sun breaks through.

What we would tell you on the range
- Brushed fleece interior. The inside of the fabric is brushed into a light microfleece that traps warmth without adding heavy bulk under your arms. It breathes well enough to keep you comfortable once you get moving across the front nine.
- Contrast mock neck. We finished the collar with a contrasting inner band that sits upright against the neck to block chilly drafts. The quarter zip runs smoothly, letting you vent heat quickly without pulling the whole layer off.
- Fitted cuffs and hem. The cuffs and bottom hem are cut to sit close to the wrists and waist. They keep cold air out and prevent the sleeves from sliding down over your grip when you address the ball.
- Washing and care. Wash it cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat. The anti-pilling face fabric keeps its clean melange texture and soft hand through regular laundry days without losing its shape.

Worth doing
- Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
- Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
- Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.
- Check the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Worth avoiding
- Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
- An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
- Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
