We built this layer for early tee times when the air is still raw and the wind cuts across the fairway. The knit has a plush microfleece back that traps warmth without adding bulk, paired with enough stretch to clear your turn at the top of a swing. Pull it on over your morning polo and vent the front zip as the day warms up.

What we would tell you on the range

Fleece knit fabric. The exterior shows a clean melange knit while the inside holds a soft microfleece pile. It breathes through active movement, stops morning chill, and stretches easily across the back.
Layering over polos. We gave the chest and armholes enough room to slide smoothly over a collared shirt. The fabric will not bunch under the arms or drag against jersey when you take a practice swing.
Mock neck zip. A stand collar keeps wind off the neck until the sun breaks through. The quarter zipper runs smooth so you can pull heat away quickly on the back nine without pulling the layer off.
Wash and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat. The knit resists pilling, keeps its shape at the cuffs, and dries quickly on a hanger between rounds.

Worth doing

Wash it cold, inside out, with the placket buttoned so it keeps its line.
Hang it to dry; performance jersey is usually wearable again by morning.
Store it on a hanger with real shoulders, not folded damp in the bag.

Worth avoiding

Fabric softener. It coats the fibre and the wicking quietly stops working.
The hot tumble dryer, which is hard on elastane and on printed panels.
An iron face-down on a print or a logo.
Leaving it wadded in the trunk between weekends.
